Kreesha Turner - Passion (EMI)
adolescent contemporary Is it really a compliment to be called «The Canadian Rhianna»? For Kreesha Turner, the answer would appear to be «yes». Though it really sounds like she's searching for a style here, at times singing like Norah Jones (yes, sweetly but without a pulse), other times like a bubblepop diva. It's easy listening, soundtrack for teenage dramas (literally), and jazz-esque. It's OK, until the moment she severely oversings a line about getting a latte, which makes me curse my policy of giving every album that I'm assigned one full obligatory hard listen. Boo.
