Amy Millan | Masters of the Burial (Arts & Crafts)

Amy Millan is basically the Kelly Rowland of Canadian indie rock. Sure the songstress from Broken Social Scene and Stars’ honey smooth voice works great in an ensemble, but solo? Womp womp... Masters of the Burial is
boring, lacking in highlights with songs that barely differ from one another. The only saving grace is the crystal clear vocals ringing with a sincerity that is frankly endearing. If it weren’t for the high profile credentials tied to her resume, Millan’s latest falls could qualify as the best entry in an open-mic night, at best. (MC) 2.7/5
