Fuckpony is a great name, too bad Jay Haze (a.k.a. Fuckpony) has made a bit of a boring album. Not that the tracks are bad, most of them would sound very great mixed into a set – you may already be familiar with “Burning Inside.” There are diva vocals, booty shaking beats and everything you’d expect (including the sound of distant thunder). And this is the problem, it’s pretty generic house music with a trance edge. There are some moments that shine through, but a collection of tracks isn’t an album and dance producers should understand this by now, the best ones do. (LC) 3 / 5
